Fall is here, and while back in New Hampshire that meant beautiful leaves turning and shit like that, here it means there's lots of American TV to carry me through my boredom. Last year, I was too busy to really catch anything new, but between my back injury and packing up to move (I have a gooorgeous new apartment, y'all), I've had nothing to do, so it's basically been NOTHING BUT PREMIERES for me.

Let's see how everything stacks up!

New Shows )

Returning Shows )

Unpremieres: Shows that just ended or are mid-run )

Meanwhile, I quit The Big Bang Theory and Grey's Anatomy without bothering to watch the premieres. I just... can't seem to drum up the interest in either of them. OTOH, totally going to be catching Once Upon a Time when that comes out. My beloved Cougar Town is pushed to midseason, and I guess so is 30 Rock? :( Mad Men is pushed to FOREVER (seriously, MARCH, WTF). Game Of Thrones and Sirens are both back in April, and Misfits... when the hell is Misfits back, anyway?

So... anyway, I like TV. Let's talk about TV.

I feel like literally every post I make lately is a "I swear I'm not dead" post. Regardless: I'm not dead!

My life has been alternately super busy and then not busy at all for a solid two-week period where I had the stomach flu and no energy to even write words, so I've been kind of... inactive. Also, there was WoW. But! I have a few things to say:

1) IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR NYC GQMFS AND ALL OTHER NEW YORK TYPES: I WILL BE BACK IN NEW YORK FROM APRIL 28TH-MAY 9TH. ROUND UP THE PARTY PATROL.

2) Media shit: Saw Black Swan, did not like it. Have not seen any other movies, because we don't have those newfangled cinemaplex things out here in the boonies. TV has been kicking ass lately, anyway. Community has returned to being my #1 jam, with Parks in a close second. I already miss Cougar Town. I'm disgustingly addicted to Grey's and really miss Owen, WHERE HAS HE BEEN LATELY? I started watching The Vampire Diaries and Fairly Legal but am fairly ambivalent towards both so far.

3) Speaking of shows I find mediocre, I wrote Big Bang Theory fic! (I kid, I kid... mostly. From what I've seen of the fandom, it seems better than the show itself has been lately.) Which I will post in the next post, so apologies for clogging up your flists.

4) WINTER IS COMING. WINTER IS COMING. You guys, I am getting so fucking excited about this series.

5) And speaking of things I am getting so fucking excited about, there is a fair chance I may, in fact, be going to the figure skating World Championships in Tokyo. *_* Only for one day, only for the Men's SP/Pairs SP (in b4 LOL pairs), but oh my God I might actually get to see both Daisuke Takahashi and Ryan Bradley compete in the same event PROOF THAT DREAMS COME TRUE.

No, no, don't mind me. Normally I love [livejournal.com profile] community_tv, I'm just hating right now because I watched this week's episode and immediately wanted to talk about how fucking amazing it was, only to find half the community griping about it. Knock, knock! Who's there? Cancer! Oh, good, come in! I thought it was [livejournal.com profile] community_tv!

Slight spoilers )

Plus, actually, can we focus on what's really important, which is heaping praise on Don Glover? I don't think there's another actor out there that could make Troy work the way he does.

Speaking of hate, LOL Grey's Anatomy, I know, but I really hope that everyone griping about Cristina's storyline shuts up after this week's episode. Seriously, just stop. It's awesome.

On a positive note, even though NaNo failed, I'm really looking forward to Yuletide. My assignment is kind of tricky -- I actually wound up picking a fandom I didn't sign up for as opposed to the one I did, but both are a little difficult to right -- but I think it's going to be really fun. Unfortunately, I can't start until Monday, because I have a GIANT EXAM tomorrow. Four hours of Japanese hell that I am going to fail miserably. Yay!

...But then things should get awesome?

Anyway. Happy Chanukah, everyone!

Whoops

Kind of a slow start to NaNo. Despite the fact that I took it on as an answer to having a lot of free time at work, it turns out I had almost no free time today! Whoops. Tomorrow I'm going to start kicking some ass, though, for real.

It goes without saying that I fucking loved Community this week, right? Best episode they've had all season. Actually, I thought pretty much everything was genius this week: Modern Family, Cougar Town, The Office was funnier than it's been in entire seasons... even Grey's Anatomy is kicking it pretty hard right now.

HAVE NOT SEEN THE WALKING DEAD YET. DON'T KILL IT FOR ME.

So I kind of forgot how excited I was about Community, until suddenly, I realized A: the premiere of season two is A WEEK AWAY and B: the DVD release is LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY. AND THERE IS A FREAKING SOUNDTRACK THAT IS AWESOME.

So now I'm basically about to explode with excitement.

Flist, once again, I urge you: WATCH THE SHIT OUT OF THIS SHOW. IT IS SO DAMN GOOD.
