Not quite a GIP
May. 11th, 2010 01:56 amI know in every post I'm like "I will do less keysmashing about skating" and then totally fail to actually stop talking about it. But I decided I had to finally icon up, and then wasted 20 minutes staring at Daisuke and the stupidly hot Brian Joubert (and his constant nudity) and anyway to make a long story short I just wound up stealing this one from
hobnobofjoy because it's Lambiel romancing a zebra, and what better way to sum up my feelings about figure skating?
But to change the subject entirely: I see I've reached that time of year again where I just cannot stop rewatching Due South and rereading classic Due South fic. I blame
technathene, who as soon as I got down South was like HEY REMEMBER WHEN WE USED TO WATCH DUE SOUTH IN COLLEGE LET'S DO THAT AGAIN. And then I remembered, oh yes, this is the fandom of my heart.
I've already been through like, all of Resonant and Speranza and Arrow00's backlogs again, and reread Family Portrait, and jumped on Spuffyduds's awesome little Bedverse and I am not yet sated, so: what great Fraser/RayK have I totally been missing out on lately? Or what classics have I forgotten? Indulge me.

Swiss people are weird.
Mar. 11th, 2010 04:03 pmOkay, so I haven't posted about it much, but during my latest convalescence, in the wake of the Olympics, I've been getting pretty into the whole figure skating thing. Sometimes, it's lovely to watch, like The Swan, or Takahashi's 2010 short, or anything Queen Yu-Na does. Sometimes, it's kind of hilarious and kind of sad, like every episode of Be Good Johnny Weir.
And then sometimes Stephane Lambiel dresses up like a cat and skates to creepy meowing.
So yeah, that exists in the world.
In other news, there are still three unguessed quotes on my movie meme (seriously, you guys killed that, I'm going to pick harder movies next time!), and one more round of Fandom Steel Cage March Madness! You had best go over and vote Buffy!

edit hoshit, I forgot it was March 11th. HAPPY 11TH OF MARCH, DUE SOUTH FANDOM.

Two today, because they're both short and from the same fandom. Actually, these could even be occupying the same reality, I guess, if you squint and turn your head to the left.
Title: Falling Into Place
Fandom: Due South
Rating: G
Pairing: Fraser/RayK
Spoilers?: Up through "Call of the Wild"
Word Count: 907
Notes: I wrote this like two seconds after seeing the series finale, and later discovered that it's basically the most stereotypical post-CoTW fic ever. Snow, sleeping bags, and Fraser being introspective. Oh well.
Summary: Alone in the wilderness, Fraser and Ray have an epiphany.
( 'You think you could do that for me, Fraser?' )
Title: Secret-Keeper
Fandom: Due South
Rating: G
Pairing: Fraser/RayK, implied Fraser/Frannie
Spoilers?: Up through "Call of the Wild"
Word Count: 846
Summary: Frannie is better at keeping secrets than people give her credit for, and now she's got another one.
( So here's a secret Frannie's been keeping: )
