No, no, don't mind me. Normally I love [livejournal.com profile] community_tv, I'm just hating right now because I watched this week's episode and immediately wanted to talk about how fucking amazing it was, only to find half the community griping about it. Knock, knock! Who's there? Cancer! Oh, good, come in! I thought it was [livejournal.com profile] community_tv!

What confuses me more than the shippers, TBH -- because I don't agree with the shippers, even as a Jeff/Annie+Troy/Abed shipper, but I understand the path from MY SHIP WAS NOT IN THIS EPISODE to THIS EPISODE SUCKED even if I think it's silly -- is the people who hated the episode because it was too dark or too sad. One of the things I loved about Community's first season was the fact that really, when you think about it, that group is insanely depressing, and they dropped so many totally fucked up things in a casual way.

I mean, Annie is a drug addict, guys. That's not light and fluffy.

Yeah, it was more serious than the last few weeks have been, but there's always been a dark side to this show, and I liked that they let it out. More importantly, they let it out in the middle of a huge amount of character development, which is the #1 thing that's been missing from this season. Give me this over the zombie movie episode any day, seriously.

Plus, actually, can we focus on what's really important, which is heaping praise on Don Glover? I don't think there's another actor out there that could make Troy work the way he does.

Speaking of hate, LOL Grey's Anatomy, I know, but I really hope that everyone griping about Cristina's storyline shuts up after this week's episode. Seriously, just stop. It's awesome.

On a positive note, even though NaNo failed, I'm really looking forward to Yuletide. My assignment is kind of tricky -- I actually wound up picking a fandom I didn't sign up for as opposed to the one I did, but both are a little difficult to right -- but I think it's going to be really fun. Unfortunately, I can't start until Monday, because I have a GIANT EXAM tomorrow. Four hours of Japanese hell that I am going to fail miserably. Yay!

...But then things should get awesome?

Anyway. Happy Chanukah, everyone!

HOW CAN ANYONE NOT HAVE LIKED THIS EPISODE? It was so so so so so so so amazing, and it just multiplied my already gigantic love for Troy about a million times more. He's my favorite. I guess I've never really shipped anything on Community enough to worry about the endgame pairings, though, so I can probably watch the shw with a greater degree of relaxation than most people and I would be in no way upset if it ended up going in the Jeff/Britta and Troy/Annie direction. Also, the Abed 'I just like talking about Farscape' riff made me laugh so hard, probably because I am also that person. It's a really good show, random bar guy!!!!

IDK, I'm a pretty big shipper, but for me the little character moments on Community tend to be so great that I'll enjoy them for any ship, even the ones I can't stand. Like, I have enjoyed Pierce/Shirley moments even though the thought of them hooking up makes my skin crawl, so why not a cute Troy/Annie moment?

Abed's stuff was amazing because I, too, have totally been that person! Troy's storyline blew me out of the water, but Abed and Annie were both also incredible.

I'm pretty sure half of them were shippers and half of them were people going, "Where are the hijinks and shenanigans?" Which is just, like, people not even watching the same show I'm watching.

My f-list and Twitter list were 90% in love with the episode, with a few people (like you) calling it the best of the season. So among people I know, it was a big hit. I scanned the episode discussion only until bed time last night, but it definitely had people choosing sides, eh? I wonder how the chat will shake out tonight.

And yes, the episode cemented Troy as my faaaaaavorite. I have the WORST celeb crush on him anyway, it's unreal.

I was so surprised when I saw the community because [livejournal.com profile] rivereyes and I watched it together and were both totally in love with it. Before I actually saw the comments, when I just saw that there were a lot of mixed reviews, I was like, "What could anyone possibly be complaining about?"

I love everything about this season of Grey's Anatomy. EVERYTHING. Derek and Christina fishing was magical.

OMG THANK YOU. I loved that so much. NGL, I teared up a little bit when Cristina broke down over the fish.

How is Derek, like, one of my favorite characters this season? I don't understand.
