Some necessary maintenance

Hey, guys. Weighing in on the current issue at hand:
1) I will never, ever, ever connect this journal, or any other journal I have, to Facebook or Twitter. None of your entries or comments, or my comments on your entries, will ever be crossposted by me to any public site. I am trying (sometimes failing, but trying!) to maintain a strict distinction between my online/fannish life and my real life, and this is part of it. Your stuff will not be anywhere near my RL accounts, I promise.
2) On that note, please do not use Facebook or Twitter to crosspost anything relating to my content. If I have to get so extreme about this as to defriend anyone who uses Facebook Connect, I will. For now, I am asking, please, if you use Facebook/Twitter Connect, please be very cautious about what you link, and please do not link my posts or comments.
(Relatedly, since I have failed enough that I am friends with some of you on FB/Twitter now -- I ask that you continue to avoid linking this journal with my RL name, please.)
Thank you. ♥

Date: 2010-09-02 03:28 pm (UTC)The longer version is, they implemented Facebook and Twitter Connect so you can crosspost stuff to those sites from here. Which is fine in theory, except that you can also crosspost your comments on other people's entries, even locked ones. So like, you know, if I write an entry titled BIG GAY PORN, I don't really want people on Facebook to know about that and potentially trace it to me as a person.
