I'm alive and perfectly safe -- my part of Japan didn't get hit at all. Shocked and horrified, but safe.

Let's keep Sendai and Miyagi and the surrounds in our thoughts tonight. At least one town up there has been completely destroyed.

What's kind of insane is that you've probably seen more of it than I have. I don't have TV in my apartment, and we really didn't even know about it down here for a while, so I still only have it from pictures and articles and updates from Twitter... not that I'm not getting a pretty good sense of the horror from that.
