I have been direly ill all weekend, and also have family shit going on, so except for one mostly-failed attempt at a party, I've been neglecting both my social life and my Yuletide and shutting myself in with this Misfits thing that everyone is suddenly talking about.

Imagine my surprise to find out that unlike certain other shows the entire internet recommended to me, this one is actually awesome! High on the LOL, low on the making me want to kill things (other than, I guess, Alisha's s1 storyline, and the fact that creeper s1!Simon is apparently fandom's woobieface).

Because I am unbelievably and shamefully predictable, my woobieface of choice is, of course, Nathan Young. Loud-mouthed attention-seeking tool with dark hair, blue eyes, an Irish accent, and a deep-seated need for a family? Holy God, I want to go to there. Also, needs moar Nathan/Kelly forever. I fink I fookin' love them.

I also love shows that have extra shit. This one has Twitters and fake Youtube channels! Huzzah.

On the other hand, I pretty deeply hate rivereyes for getting me into not one but two shows this year right before their season finales. That girl does not know how and when to enable properly. >:(

Ah, I've failed in ever commenting on your posts ever but I must say something now because Misfits is currently my jam. I started watching it last week (due to a steady influx of Tumblr graphics XD) and now I'm already up to 2x03. I-I kind of don't know what to do with myself? I've fallen for this show hard and there is so few existing/remaining episodes. Dammit, British TV, you and your lovely short seasons!

Right?? After the first two episodes I was literally googling "misfits alisha PROBLEMATIC" and "misfits alisha rape culture" because I just couldn't be alone in this. I'm glad it didn't turn me off the show but it's SUCH an issue to never be adequately discussed. ...I have half a post written about that, maybe it should become a real post someday. :)

YES. THAT. ALL THAT. hahaha, in a really-not-surprising move for me, I am super into both Nathan and Simon. XD I see no reason to choose and will happily say that I think Simon is a creeper who spent a large portion of S1 disturbing the fuck out of me and Nathan is such a DICK. But, oh god, do I love them.

Also, needs moar Nathan/Kelly forever. I fink I fookin' love them.
FACT. Not to get all OTP in here but I think they are FANTASTIC. I want so many more slaps to happen. :D

I just capped off the latest episode because I literally am so sick that I don't even have the energy to play WoW and so really have nothing else to do. Now I'm just scouring the internet for more Misfits stuff. There are twitters for Simon, Kelly, and Future!Simon, too! And Nathan's links to a Curtis one but I think it's fake. Needs moar Alisha, Twitter.

You should totally write a post about Alisha! kohler sort of touched on it in the comments to her Race and Gender in Misfits post, but I'd love to see a full discussion about it. There are some things I actually like about that storyline (hey, men can be raped too and it's not a joke!) and... a lot of things I'm not wild about. I think some bits of it are actually supposed to be commentary on the issue itself, and I appreciate that, but there's a lot that goes unexamined that makes me cringe (ALSO SIMON INAPPROPRIATELY TOUCHING KELLY IN THE STAIRWELL COME ON).

...I do like Simon more now that he's becoming a real person. But ughhhh he creeped me out so bad early on. Nathan is just adorable. ♥ I mean, a terrible person, but lovely. Kelly is perfect for him. I need them in my life.

Kelly is my woobie, I guess, if I can say I had one on this show. Something about her twitter really got me last year ("Alopeesha would be a nice name for a girl I fink") and when I was rewatching everything, it was easier to pick out how awesome she is. And I have to say, I kind of like her and Nathan as friends because I adore that little prick, but she deserves better.
