Ugh you guys I don't know if I can come tonight after all. I feel (for reasons that many of you have probably already seen and I don't feel like repeating) really gross and exhausted and the whole mess has set my schedule back today so I don't even know if I'd make it out there before like, 11.

I kind of just want to curl up with Psych or something and fall asleep.

I, of course, selfishly hope that you'll feel better and have a change of mind and come anyway, but if you don't, we'll understand.

Ty ty. ♥ I want to come, you know I love hanging out with y'all, but I just feel ungood. And I was going to pack over my lunch break, which is now occupied with dealing with fallout, so like, with everything I'm seriously not going to wind up getting there till late tonight... is that even going to be worth it? I feel like everyone will be either partied out or drunk.

[identity profile] ink-n-imp.livejournal.com 2009-08-21 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
How bout you give us a call this evening if you're feeling up to the trek out to Far Rockaway, and we'll give you a gauge about how obnoxiously drunk/ready to pass out we are. In the very least, you'll get a huge "HAI GURL HAI" from the lot of us, which has the power of a thousand lens flares when it comes to brightening someone's shitty day.

[identity profile] ncc-gqmf.livejournal.com 2009-08-21 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
That is a sensible solution! I'll probably wind up calling in just to hear the giant vocal lens flare even if I don't come out. :P

I don't know whether to say "just call me Spock I'm just that logical", or "call me Kirk I'm just that good at winning no-wins."

^_^

D: Aww. Feel better! You'll be missed!

:( It would be awesome if you were there, but I know what you mean. You'll be there on the astral plane? Whatever you decide to do, I hope you feel better!

[identity profile] ncc-gqmf.livejournal.com 2009-08-21 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
♥ I want to be there to pimp out our delightful show and convert the masses but I just do not know if I can muster the spirit or the physical energy. Plus like, isn't the party going to be practically over by that point? :|

[identity profile] liasbuttissexy.livejournal.com 2009-08-21 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Not as I understand it--I mean, I'm getting there kinda late too, so I really hope its not over quickly. I'm pretty sure people will be staying up till the am, then sleeping in a lot, then hanging out a while after before the party actually ends. There's a good number of people sleeping over and a lot of people arriving late, I can't imagine they'll all want to arrive, hang out for like four hours then go to sleep/leave. BUT WHO KNOWS I MIGHT BE REALLY WRONG, IDK.
And it's okay bb, I will attempt to be doubly pimp to make up for it. (Though I'm still not sure if starting with Burning Down the House will just confuse/scare people, or if I should start earlier in the show, but I don't want to make people sit through all the seriousness to get to the cracky-slashy-awesometastic-ness. DECISIONS DECISIONS.)

[identity profile] ncc-gqmf.livejournal.com 2009-08-21 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
START WITH BURNING DOWN THE HOUSE. I PROMISE IT WILL BE OKAY.

Just give it a little intro: "So once upon a time there was this show, and one of the actors left after season two, so to make fun of TV they hired a dude who looked nothing like him and decided to write a plot where everyone had to pretend they were the same. Also there's a deaf wolf and a ghost."

I mean, you could also do Dead Guy Running or a season one episode like Gift of the Wheelman, but I feel like all the good episodes that aren't the actual pilot require some backstory anyway, so. And I wouldn't make them sit through the pilot, that shit is long.

[identity profile] liasbuttissexy.livejournal.com 2009-08-21 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
OKAY I WILL TRUST YOU ON THIS. (For some reason so many people remain confused even after explanations! Woe. BUT I WILL BE EXTRA PIMP AND EXPLAIN-Y.)

I have a feeling I'm going to insist on Seeing Is Believing at some point. Because despite using almost all the characters, it needs very little external explanation. But after Burning Down the House, natch. And yeah, a lot of the earlier seasons do require a lot of explanation. I'd love to show A Hawk and a Handsaw, but I think I'll just stick to RayK stuff for now. We'll see how it all plays out.

[identity profile] ncc-gqmf.livejournal.com 2009-08-21 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
ROFL if I decide not to come and you need my assistance with the explanation, call me and I will assist.

See, I love Seeing is Believing, but I definitely think you need to watch at least a few before you see it just to understand why it's SO FUCKING CRAZY. Especially evil!hypnotist!Fraser.

OH MAN I DIDN'T EVEN THINK OF A HAWK AND A HANDSAW. NO YOU SHOULD SHOW THAT TOO, THAT'S A GREAT EPISODE EVEN WITH RAYV. And IIRC it takes like 0 explanation... is Dead Bob even in that?

[identity profile] liasbuttissexy.livejournal.com 2009-08-21 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Dead Bob is not in it, no. Just Fraser being...Fraser and RayV being RayV and everything just being made of AWESOME. (Trufax: The scene with the computer is something I caught once while channel surfing when I was like, eight, and I was like OMGWTFBQQ and it apparently made SUCH AN IMPRESSION that I still remember it. Oh la.) I have so much love for that episode, it's one of my favorites.

I will still start with Burning, for sure, and move on to the others if people like it enough (AND I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I WILL DO IF THEY DON'T, OMG, WHAT IF THEY HAVE NO TASTE) though I've noticed that Seeing Is Believing and Dead Guy Running tend to go down pretty well with people who have little exposure to the show.

And it looks like you should be calling us anyway at some point! VOCAL LENS FLAIRS ARE AWESOME.

[identity profile] ncc-gqmf.livejournal.com 2009-08-21 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
ROFL oh the computer scene. That scene skims the very edge of my "NO YOU CANNOT DO THAT" filter (as opposed to say, wires in ears, which flies right past it). I was always really surprised that Dead Bob wasn't used in that episode -- what better way to make Fraser look like a nutjob than to have him talking to people no one can see? Although I guess there's something to be said for him being completely straightforward and having people take him for the nut that he is.

Yeah, Dead Guy Running is usually my second go-to after Burning. I have some friends who swear by Spy vs. Spy, but frankly, I think exposure to that brand of insanity should be limited until well after one is already watching the show. >_>;;;

[identity profile] ncc-gqmf.livejournal.com 2009-08-21 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
BUT I MIGHT COME ANYWAY JSYK THINGS ARE BETTER NOW

[identity profile] ncc-gqmf.livejournal.com 2009-08-21 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Dead Guy Running is another good intro episode, BTW, if you don't want to start with Burning, although it does still require the "so this guy is pretending to be a guy who looks nothing like him" explanation.

[identity profile] sarahsez00.livejournal.com 2009-08-21 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't go either, for work related reasons. Poo. But I hope you feel better about the situation soon! Sometimes a relaxing night in fixes everything.

[identity profile] ncc-gqmf.livejournal.com 2009-08-21 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw, sorry you can't make it. I am feeling a little better, although still tired! I'm debating, what with the rain and all.
